■ Semi-Submersible 일반
|
잠수식 구조물 (Submerged Pontoon) 에 작업 공간 (Working Platform) 이 몇 개의 기둥(Column) 으로 받쳐진 형태로 대부분 자체 추진능력을 갖고 있어 견인할 필요가 없으며, 필요한 위치에 도착하면 Pontoon 에 물을 채워 전체적으로 어느 정도 가라 앉힘으로 수면 위의 높이를 낮추어 거친 해상 상태에서도 안정적으로 작업할 수 있도록 한다. 일반적으로 수심 300~400m 정도 까지 사용하나 수심 3,000m 까지 작업 가능한 것도 있다.
Semi-Submersible 은 주로 Drilling Unit 으로 사용되나 Production Unit 으로 사용되는 것도 있으며, 아래 우측의 그림은 대표적인 형태의 Semi-Submersible Drilling Platform 이다. |

한편 낮은 수심에서 Ballasting 을 통해 해저면에 안착시켜 사용하는 것을 Submersible 이라고 하며,
주로 하부의 Pontoon 없이 Column 만 있는 Caisson Rig 형식이다.
